A defining governance question for digital finance
For more than a decade, digital financial transformation has focused on expanding access. Across Africa and beyond, payment infrastructure has matured, digital identity has expanded, new providers have entered the market, and millions more people now participate in the formal financial system.
Yet as financial systems become increasingly digital, interconnected and platform-led, a different set of questions is emerging.
- How is confidence built across complex digital ecosystems?
- What happens when responsibility becomes unclear?
- How should governance evolve when financial services depend on networks rather than individual institutions?
These are no longer operational questions. They are questions of public policy and financial system design.
This event marks the public launch of Trust Architecture in Platform-Led Finance, Bridgforte’s flagship Policy Framework Report. It brings together senior leaders from regulation, central banking, financial services, fintech and international development to examine one of the defining governance questions facing the next generation of digital financial systems.

About the report
Trust Architecture in Platform-Led Finance is Bridgforte’s flagship Policy Framework Report and the first in the Executive Table Series. It introduces the Bridgforte Trust Architecture Framework, a way of understanding how confidence is produced, sustained and eroded across increasingly digital and interconnected financial systems, and sets out priorities for regulators, institutions and development partners.
Drawn from a closed-door Executive Table convened in Lagos with the UNDP Innovation Hub, bringing together thirty senior leaders from banking, fintech, payments, regulation and development finance. Grounded in Nigeria’s experience, it speaks to a governance challenge now emerging across frontier and emerging markets more widely.

The Bridgforte Trust Survey
We asked thirty of Nigeria's most senior financial leaders, behind closed doors, where trust breaks down in finance. Their answers became the foundation of Trust Architecture in Platform-Led Finance. We are now asking the same questions of a wider group, and we would value your view.
The survey takes three minutes. Responses are anonymous, and results will be reported only in aggregate. We will share findings at the launch on 28th July.
