Trust as an enabler in Financial Inclusion
Overview
Trust is the invisible infrastructure of financial inclusion. But trust has too often been overlooked in the design of financial products, policies, & partnerships.
People need it to flourish and to engage with systems, institutions, & each other.
Trust is required between people and providers. It’s required between regulators and providers and between individual providers. Increasing trust is a vital step to insure financial inclusion moves from a goal to a lived reality for everyone.
Purpose
This Design Lab catalyses new thinking and cross-sector collaboration around trust as a spur for financial inclusion. Participants bring their experience and build together.
• Illuminate how trust is built, broken, and repaired in financial systems
• Explore the lived experiences and blind spots that shape trust dynamics
• Identify actionable interventions that can shift norms, narratives, & outcomes
Duration and Structure
Participants join the Lab for a minimum of six months. Meetings are remote, with optional in-person gatherings around global convenings. Participants can also opt into peer-led sub-groups or contribute to publications.
